How I shot the Vogue Luxembourg cover... I wish ;-)

Meet Eileen Jones; a bright, funny and absolutely charming young lady from Heffingen. Her mother is an ex-colleague of my wife and although we had unfortunately lost touch a bit over the past two years, we hit it off again when the Jones family paid us a visit on a lovely day in Spring. After lunch, we decided to head over to the playground at the lake, so the kids could enjoy some of that glorious weather. It was a fantastic afternoon, but it eventually had to come to an end. Before heading home, I decided to hand over a business card to John, Eileen's father, so he would have all of my contact details.

Fast forward a couple of days later. There's an e-mail from the Jones family in my inbox telling me they hadn't been aware that I was into photography, but they quite enjoyed my site. This year was actually Eileen's First Holy Communion and they asked me if I would be available to take some pictures for the thank you cards. Of course I accepted this in a heartbeat :-)

We discussed possible places for the shoot to happen, and there's this absolutely lovely little chapel called Hoehkreuz, just on the outskirts of Heffingen. I am so glad  and thankful to John for showing me this hidden gem.

The actual shoot was a dream as well; we finally enjoyed a break in the weather (it had been on and off for the last few days) and Eileen hit every pose like a professional model (along with those amazing eyes and that warm smile of hers). A special mention also goes out to Emma, Eileen's cheerful dynamo of a little sister. I found myself constantly laughing at her antics :-)

Well, that's enough of my boring talk, here's just a few of the shots I delivered.

Oh, and about that title => I had so much fun with the Jones gang, that I decided to come up with a little surprise ;-)

So, dear Eileen, Emma, Nathalie and John, thank you again for this brilliant afternoon. I already look forward to our next meeting and our scheduled family shoot :-)
